MySQL AB Opens Japanese Subsidiary

MySQL AB today announced the establishment and introduction of MySQL K.K.,
a wholly-owned Japanese subsidiary based in Tokyo. In 2005, there were over
one million downloads of the MySQL database server by Japanese users. The
new company will focus on leveraging this interest in its cost-effective
enterprise database (RDBMS) by offering corporate customers and software
vendors commercial licensing, production support and professional service
options. A new Japanese Web site has been launched at
http://www-jp.mysql.com
